As unlikely as it is for a human being to live in the deep sea, so it is for a divine being to enter our human world. A divinity is too spiritual for that. And yet he can exert his divine influence. When humanity needs a new, spiritual impetus, such a god will manifest himself on Earth. To do so, however, he needs the help of other beings who are in lower realms and who transform the influence to our world. Thus arises the great Mystery of the Avatāra.

This lecture will discuss the process of how Avatāras come into being and what role they play in the great developmental progress of humanity.
